From June 14 until July 13, 2024, Galerie de la Bande Dessinée is having a new comic art show featuring the original comic art of French comic book artist Hugues Labiano. His new graphic novel Something cold (Quelque chose de froid), was published in France by Glenat in March 2024.
In the mid 1930’s, a serial killer is roaming the streets of Cleveland, and the police seems powerless. And it is a former gangster, in search of redemption, who will perhaps bring justice to the killer many victims.
Hugues Labiano’s narration, with its permanent fluidity, places us alongside the protagonists, for a stunning immersion. His original comic art boards reveal an intense chiaroscuro, which perfectly conveys the violence of the city strangled by poverty and crime.
