3401 – Animation drawing from the Grendizer anime TV series. Duke Fleed. Rare and beautiful production cel of the pilot of Grendizer. An original hand painted production cel from the UFO Robot Grendizer (UFOロボ グレンダイザー, Yūfō Robo Gurendaizā) anime TV series, produced by Toei Animation between 1975 and 1977. Slight handling wear from production. Tiny pieces of gouache painting are missing as shown of the scan. A piece of tracing paper is pasted on the back of the cel, stuck to the gouache, which is very common regarding cels produced in the seventies and hoiw they were stocked. Original production cel, Anime Cel, or celluloid, is a transparent plastic sheet composed of cellulose acetate. In the same format as the douga, the celluloid is painted by hand. All animation art and production drawings (layout, douga, genga, cel) sold by Galerie de la Bande Dessinee are safely sealed in archival bags with acid-free backing boards to keep the production art protected. Original production cels are a spectacular addition to any art collection, and a great way to enjoy the artistry behind your favorite Anime and animated series.
